[Unboxing] Glamour Box: Flawless Beauty

Last Monday, I finally received my first ever Glamour Box!

Now, to be quite honest, I felt a bit skeptical about subscribing to these monthly beauty boxes. First of all, I've always had the habit of sticking to a routine especially one that works well for me. As much as I love trying out new products, the moment I feel that they're not going to work, I ditch them ASAP. I knew that if I subscribed to these boxes, I'd have a pile of unused items. And let me tell you all, I hate wastage of any form whatsoever. But... to hell with it! I jumped aboard the beauty box trend and subscribed to 2 beauty boxes! (I have high hopes!) Also, my bestfriend finally gave me the push to try out new things and so here we are!

Was I stoked? Definitely!

Let's talk about the box first. It came to me exactly on September 01 which is pretty amazing. I got home from school last Monday, and I was pretty surprised when the Xend delivery guy came. They were not late at all which is what some people who subscribe to these boxes typically complain about. Thankfully, I got mine quickly! Good sign right there! As I opened the package, the first thing I noticed was the quality of the box. It's sturdy! A+!

Now let's get to the unboxing!

Ta-da!

For more information on the box, you can go to their website here. You can find all the items included in the box over hereThe subscription costs PHP 580 a month and for what it's worth, it's a pretty good deal!

Now first impressions? The box was packed neatly and nothing spilled out which was one of my frustrations at first. Everything looked divine in their proper places! There was also a nice mix between skincare and make-up products! Did it reach my expectations? To be quite honest, I think I expected a little too much. When I ordered this box, I wanted to see a larger assortment of products along with items that aren't that readily available from the drugstore. I'm stoked with the lip scrub (Oh gosh. It smells so good.) and Ofra lip product though! I'm giving the shampoo pack to our housemaid though as this product didn't really work well with me.

However, with that said, this box came out at a good time because I'm currently experiencing a huge break out (which is expected from using a Clarisonic. First time users call it the purging stage.) and I'm giving out the Belo AcnePro line a try! So far, so good!

First Impressions

+++
  • Arrived on time! Mine arrived exactly on September 01! Talk about punctual for a beauty box nonetheless.
  • Items were packaged neatly. The products also came with a card that contained product information.
  • Good assortment of make-up and skincare products!
  • Full-sized products! Awesome.
  • Worth the subscription for PHP 580!

---
  • I was expecting a greater assortment of products to try. In a way, I expected products that weren't readily available and can be found anywhere.
Will I subscribe again? Yes. I will subscribe to every of their available boxes for another 2-3 months before I decide whether or not to keep them. Hopefully, they'll step up their game and come up with a better box in the future!

[Skincare] Review: Bifesta Cleansing Lotion in SEBUM

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

A couple of years ago, (back in 2011, I believe.) I bought my first ever Bifesta Cleansing lotion in Age Care. At that point, being in this paranoid state, I decided to purchase it in order to prevent any wrinkles. Heck, I was only 17 then! I wasn't able to properly review it because it would have been a disservice. Also, the product was way too moisturizing for my oily skin to take. My skin didn't need much anti-aging products back then. Now that I'm 20, my skin is still more or less in that state, thankfully.

I was a little smarter a month back and got it in Sebum. I have Normal-Slight Combination skin so I thought this would work a little better. Also, my schedule has gotten more hectic. I wanted to try a product that wouldn't make me continually wash my face over and over again. On normal days, I'd wear a primer-medium coverage foundation-concealer-eyebrows and the occasional mascara. It's a tedious process and I don't exactly like smothering oil cleansers on my face to dissolve 'em Japanese brand mascaras so I prayed that may this product work.

And thankfully, it did.

I've been using this product for over 2 months now.

*Drumroll, please!*

I am absolutely in love with it! I'm not sure if it's because I've gained some form of maturity when it comes to removing my make-up. (I've only recently learned of the Japanese way of 'Double Cleansing' and I've been practicing it religiously since then.) But for some reason, whenever I use this product and seeing all my stubborn make-up removed in just a couple of seconds without having to wash my face with water is so gratifying!

The product is fragrance-free, non-comodogenic and water-based. True enough, the consistency feels like splashing cold water on your face. It gives off a cool effect on my skin which I love a lot. The packaging looks great and clean on my vanity. There's a freakin' pump. What's not to like? Apparently, not so much.

Above, I have a couple of heavy duty make-up swatched (if there even was a word...) on my skin. I allowed the products to dry up for a bit before testing the cleansing lotion to be able to test its efficacy.

I prefer using wide cotton pads as opposed to the typical cotton balls they usually sell here in the Philippines. I find that the cleansing water disperses evenly therefore the pads are soaked and product is distributed equally so when you wipe your make-up off, a larger area is cleansed. Less time to remove your make-up and more room for more important things!

The best way to use this product, I believe, is to allow the cotton pad to stay in one area first to dissolve the cosmetics. (Especially on your eye area.) Afterwards, gently wipe ahead without rubbing!

+++
  • Can easily be found anywhere in the Philippines! (They're actually being sold at our nearest Shopwise! All 4 variants nonetheless!)
  • A whole bottle can last you for at least 1 1/2 - 2 months. I use a lot more product as I make sure to wipe my skin off well whether I wash off using a cleanser or not.
  • Pretty cheap at PHP 419 pesos. (Roughly around $8-9 dollars!)
  • Doesn't make my skin feel sticky afterwards.
  • After using, my skin feels completely moisturized. It also has a refreshing feeling after using.
  • Packaging looks great!
  • Removes my make-up well!
  • Did not break me out in any way.

---
  • Does not remove stubborn, waterproof makeup so be sure to use a different product for those kind of cosmetics!
Notes:
  • Do not rub the cotton pad against your skin.
  • If you've worn your make-up + sunscreen and was out the whole day, I would still advise to wash your face after with a cleanser.
Overall, I'm definitely pleased with this product. I've actually just purchased the Bright Up + Moist variants and will probably do a review on them soon! For more information, you can go here.

[UNBOXING] BDJ Elite Box: Heroine Make

Hello, guys! Guess what? I ordered the BDJ Elite Box from their homepage a couple of weeks ago! (Strange how I just got to post about it now. *sweats*) And boy, was I in for a treat or what? I've been trying to assimilate my tastes in makeup/skincare for some time now, and I'm so glad that there are more Japanese brands flocking to the Philippines! It's such a huge relief that I don't have to order 'em from abroad or go out of the country to get my fix.

Heroine Make is a brand that has grabbed my attention for a long time now! Their adorable princess mascot piqued my interest from their packaging and since then on all I wanted to do was find a way to grab them! So when Kat brought to my radar that BDJ was having a special limited edition box filled with Heroine Make's goodies, I quickly took my chance!

(Note: I can no longer see their advertisement on their website about this offer so I'm assuming it has ended. You can still view the details of their offer here.)

The box's covering is lovely and pink! (Just the way I like it!)

Shall we take a peek?

A message from their editors!

I love how they were so thoughtful in doing these introductory cards! Their respective descriptions of each product are at the back along with the prices. I won't be including them in this post, however. When I review each and every single one, you'll be able to see them then. For PHP 1480 pesos, you get way more than your money's worth! You get a total of 8 products. Not bad, huh? If ever you needed to build your makeup kit, this could be the box for you!

The box I got was the: Sweet-Medium Box.

From left to right: Heroine Make Smooth Cover Mineral Powder, Heroine Make Mineral BB SPF 50+ PA+++ and Sun Killer SPF 50+ PA++++!

I'm quite stoked to see that they included along some face products! (Yes! Yes!) I tend to be a little biased when it comes to base makeup as they are normally the things I'm picky about. To me, having flawless and smooth looking skin is the most important step when it comes to makeup so I am definitely excited about giving these babies a try! I have quite high expectations. (Also, wow, the sunscreen seems to be the real deal. I'm hoping it's not to greasy because SPF 50+ PA++++ is heaven sent for a girl who gets freckles easily!)

From left to right: Heavy Rotation Jewel Eyeliner #02, Heroine Make Eyelash Fixer and Heroine Make Volume & Curl Mascara #02!

Eye products! *u* I'm not entirely sure on what the Jewel Eyeliner could be? I think it would look good to top off an eyeliner especially a brown one! It can enhance and make it look a little shimmery which is such a cute effect I often see in Japanese magazines. (And I will definitely try!) Also some eyelash glue. It's transparent. The one I'm currently using is also black which can be quite tedious if not applied properly so having a clear one is good as a back-up. I'm most excited about the mascara! I think they're one of Heroine Make's top products! Also packaging looks lovely! I find that I have trouble searching for mascaras that keep my eyelash curl.

From left to right: Heroine Make Eyelash in #10 and Heroine Make Quick Eyebrow #03!

It was my first time trying on eyelashes with Heroine Make's! This one looks entirely natural that hardly anyone I knew figured I was actually wearing false eyelashes! A winner in my book. I'm hoping to repurchase more of these babies soon. (So, please, Heroine Make. Be available in North Edsa, ASAP. I should've stocked up when I was at the Dolly Glam event.) Also stoked to try their Quick eyebrow product. I'm also on the market for good eyebrow pencils. *crosses fingers*

Well, this is it for the Heroine Make box! I am going to be road testing these items for the upcoming weeks so hang on for some reviews! (Also a close to my first ever post here in My Beauty Daydream. Let's pray for more posts, yes?)

I've also subscribed to the BDJ Box starting September so be sure to look forward to my next unboxing posts. I'm so excited to give you all some more beauty news + reviews!
